My work translates memories into compositions that are usually not accurate to the memories that are being thought of. Having fun, being experimental, being focused, and having an open mind are very important to my practice. Nature highly influences the colors used in my pieces. It also influences the compositions and shapes. A lot of the memories that stick with me take place outside. Lined paper appears in my pieces because I gravitate towards how it looks and the memories I have using it. The process of drawing it out is somewhat therapeutic too.
My work includes bits of my life, nature and a lot of made up stuff. Most of my pieces are started by scribbling and finding compositions within those scribbles. I’m interested in making my own world in my pieces and shitting color all over them.
